Waste Plastic-to-Fuel Refining Equipment

Two Sets of Waste Plastic-to-Fuel Refining Equipment Delivered to Malaysia in December 2025

Two waste plastic pyrolysis plants in Malaysia to be installed by December 2025-11

Introduction

In December 2025, a Malaysian environmental services company completed the import and commissioning of two sets of waste plastic-to-fuel refining equipment. The client had been facing a common challenge in Southeast Asia: a steady supply of mixed plastic waste, rising disposal costs, and increasing pressure to adopt more sustainable treatment methods. Rather than sending low-value plastics to landfill or incineration, the company wanted to convert them into usable fuel products and create a more profitable circular-economy operation.

After reviewing the client’s feedstock characteristics, factory layout, local environmental requirements, and target output quality, the project was designed as a dual-line solution with stable throughput, improved oil recovery, and simplified operation. The equipment was scheduled for delivery in December 2025, with installation and trial operation completed shortly afterward.

Professional Solution Tailored for the Client

For this Malaysian project, the solution was built around the client’s actual waste stream, which included mixed polyethylene, polypropylene, and other common plastic fractions collected from local industrial and commercial sources. Because the feedstock was not uniform, the equipment was configured with a robust front-end pretreatment system to improve stability and reduce contamination risk. The full setup included sorting assistance, shredding, feeding, thermal conversion units, condensation systems, oil separation, gas recycling, and a fuel refining section to improve final product usability.

Two complete production lines were supplied so the client could operate continuously while maintaining maintenance flexibility. This also allowed the plant to handle seasonal fluctuations in incoming waste volume. To support Malaysia’s hot and humid operating environment, the system design emphasized corrosion resistance, insulation performance, and dependable cooling efficiency. The control cabinet was configured with PLC-based automation so operators could monitor temperature, pressure, feed rate, and condensation conditions in real time.

Safety was also a major part of the solution. The project included pressure relief devices, sealed gas circulation, emergency shutdown functions, and odor control measures to help the client meet site safety expectations. In addition, the refining section was adjusted to produce a cleaner, more marketable fuel output that could be sold to industrial users or used as supplementary heating fuel. Training was provided for local operators, covering start-up, shutdown, routine maintenance, and basic troubleshooting. The result was a practical, scalable system designed not only for waste reduction, but also for long-term commercial value.

Performance metrics

  • Annual waste plastic processing capacity: 6,000 tons/year
  • Average pyrolysis oil yield: 62%
  • Annual fuel output: about 3,720 tons/year

Simple financial calculation

  • Total investment cost: USD 1,280,000
  • Average fuel selling price: USD 620/ton
  • Annual revenue: 3,720 tons × USD 620/ton = USD 2,306,400
  • Estimated annual operating cost: USD 1,420,000
  • Estimated annual net profit: USD 886,400

ROI calculation

  • ROI = (Annual net profit ÷ Total investment) × 100%
  • ROI = (886,400 ÷ 1,280,000) × 100% = 69.25%

These results showed that the project was not only technically successful, but also financially attractive. The client gained a reliable way to manage waste plastics, reduce disposal pressure, and generate a steady fuel product with strong market potential.

Other Cases

Conclusion
